Farewell, But Not Goodbye — SEATRAC Salutes Tanya Parish
With both pride and bittersweet hearts we announce Tanya Parish will soon be leaving Seattle to go to the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (in Liverpool) as Professor of Global Health Therapeutics. Tanya has been a key member of our community for many years, serving as co‑Director of the Basic Sciences Core of SEATRAC and leading the TB research in her lab at Seattle Children’s Research Institute. While we will miss her daily presence, we want to celebrate the exciting new chapter ahead for her.

Tanya’s research career has been defined by a deep commitment to advancing the fight against TB. Her work on mycobacterial physiology and drug discovery has substantially expanded our understanding of the pathogen and driven forward new potential therapies. In Seattle, she built collaborations across institutions, mentored countless trainees, and brought together scientists from diverse disciplines in the shared mission to end TB. Her leadership helped establish SEATRAC as a vibrant hub for TB work, a place where ideas can find fertile ground ans grow.
We thank Tanya for her vision, generosity, and tireless contributions to the Seattle TB research community. While her physical workspace will soon shift across the ocean, her influence will remain. We wish her every success in London and look forward to continuing to work together from afar—because once part of SEATRAC, always part of SEATRAC.
